lumière de monde
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
And You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
And I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

I went to Times bookshop today after school, i intended to read some of the Archie comics, but it seems liek the new stock hasnt arrived, thus i was left with no choice but to source around for more alternative reading.
The Times bookshop in Centrepoint had gone through a major revamp and now it's been reduced to about 1/3 of its original size, so finding a right book took minimum time. Soon, I sat down and was captivated by one of the books i found. Chicken soup for the soul 3. I know the book is a popular series but i hardly have any chance of laying my "paws" on such a book. Though the language was simple, the stories were touching and inspiring. One of the stories that made an impact on me goes soemthing like this:
THE LITTLE BOY AND THE OLD MAN
by Shel Silverstein
Said the little boy, "Sometimes i drop my spoon."
Said the old man, "I do that too."
The little boy whispered, "I wet my pants."
"I do that too," laughed the old man.
Said the little boy, "I often cry."
The old man nodded, "So do I."
"But worst of all," said the little boy, "it seems
Grown-ups don't pay attention to me."
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
"I know what you mean." said the old man.
Thats it. Super inspirational. I totally agree with what Silverstein mentioned. Maybe its the kind of society we are living in, maybe its the lifestyle we are leading, or maybe its because of teh lack of time that we have. We seemed to have neglected the people around us, especially the elderly. On the same note, have our hearts turned cold and unfeeling? Have we become a group of mindless people whose onli ambition is to attain a certain level of material wealth and benfits? I strongly feel that we really should reflect on our actions and be inclusive of the people around us. Let us be blind so that we can use our hearts to see. =].
